WHOO HOO we started our 1st day here in Grapevine at The Vineyards Cabins & Campground.
Trained, learning the reservation system, processed check outs, petty cash, future reservations
created folders for arrivals for to morrow, only 6, However I understand that we have over 59 to
create for Friday. This is Memorial Day weekend and the park is totally booked.
Our contact with customers has been very pleasant and everyone is excited to be here and as far
as I can tell everyone is excited to be returning customers.
We toured the cabins this morning and they have some sweet cabins which would be a
short trip from home but a nice peaceful location with many shops and restaurants near
by in downtown Grapevine.

April 26, 2014 Fort Lauderdale, Fl
My sister flew to Fort Lauderdale and spent 5 nights. We did the beach a couple times
and of course the touristy stuff like the cruise of the inner coastal water way and new
river.
The tour provided a lot of history of the area, people and homes.
I'm going to attach a couple pictures taken along the trip. We also got to see a gator
wrestler.
Stats on some yachts:
Slips run about $1000 a day, some have been parked for 5/6 months
Some require $500000 worth fuel which could be good for a 7 day cruise.
Maintenance could cost $250000 a year.

April 17, 2014 Fort Lauderdale Fl
Well we have have managed to hang out for another month here in Fort Lauderdale.
Been enjoying the beach and just kicking around. Nothing too exciting has been
going on.
My email as been "spoofed" says AOL so many of you may have seen an email that looked like it came from me, I am sorry about that.
Passwords reset so hope that nothing else will be sent.
Weather here I think is from the fronts that have passed bad weather across much of the nation heading up the East coast so we have been having some thunder storms.... but this will pass and we'll have paradise again YEA!
We definitely like the east coast over the west coast, although have many friends out on the western portion of the country.
Till next post!!

March 21, 2014 Fort Lauderdale, Florida
We arrived in Fort Lauderdale again 3/11 and it seems like a month ago but yet just 10 days ago...
I guess too much fun in the sun can affect ones well being HA HA
Can we say maybe Island life :) of course not quiet like Key West but it is
pretty nice.... we have spent much time at the beach laying around getting all
toasty and brown, ok maybe a little too much. I got a bit too much last week
have started the ugly peeling process UGH..
But the weather is very hard to beat.
We are at a Mobile Home/RV park which does only monthly rates which beats
all daily rate locations including our favorite TY park. Its about $27 a day now
but May is low season and it drops to about $14 bucks a day.
So we are thinking we may spend the summer here to see if we like it when it is a bit
warmer and to be sure that the breezes off the ocean will keep us cool enough.
I will hope to keep you updated with news as we explore.
Housing market here is all over the place. Can't replace our Irving place here less that
over $500K, crazy prices and they wonder why they were hit so hard by the housing
crash. We have looked at homes that might be $187 per SQ FT still at $300K that were
once $500K in 2006. That is NUTS!!!
Many are either in foreclosure still or have been bought by investors that are in the
process of flipping them to try to score some hefty profits. It seems though there is
no shortage of buyers either.
Maybe I need to move my real estate license to Florida...... although they do have
some quirky laws/rules like penalties for removing a tree on your property, some
properties can use well water to water lawns only and of course various taxes.
We paid 11% tax on top of our rent here 6% sales, 5% tourist tax... after 6 months
they charge neither??? whats that about??
Hope everyone is doing well!

March 9, 2014 Kissimmee, Fl (Mount Dora)
Went and hit a couple Antique Dealers in Mount Dora with Bob and his cousin Bill and saw the "rolling" hills of Florida, yea they have them!
We fell in love with the quaint town and it appeared real estate was pretty reasonable even.
They have Lakeside Inn which has been operational for over 130 years. President Calvin Coolidge and his wife spent a month here in early 1930.
The Inn over looks the lake where we saw sea plane taking off with a tour of the lake from above.
Popular area for tourist with plenty of eating places.
Unfortunately we went a day too soon as they had a antique auto show today(Sunday) but we did get to see a few cars that were there to attend the even.
Another 2 days here then back to Fort Lauderdale. We will be staying at Hill's RV/Moblie home park, yep we might have resorted to Trailer trash HA HA
Tuesday we'll have to get up and get around cause we have to travel the 180 miles and get to Hill's before 3 when their offices close.

March 4, 2014 Kissimmee, Fl (Orlando)
WOW we have been here since Feb 17th and our time will end here 3/11, YEA!! It has been
sort of boring here.
Plenty of mini vans and a bunch of people
We've decided that we like Fort Lauderdale so much that we are going to return
and stay at a place with a Monthly rate.
This will allow us to become more familiar with the area.
At least we had pictures there.... none here :( nothing exciting to write about
Did discover a DelWebb home community that we just loved..... they have
resort amenities and the community was very nicely organized.

January 31, 2014 Fort Lauderdale, FL
Here in Fort Lauderdale we have been busy seeing friends, Mike and Phillip. We
also met some of their friends spending an evening out talking and laughing.
We've managed to go to the beach a couple times before it began to rain, but
it is still in the 70's at least in Florida.
We are staying at TY Park in Hollywood, Fl till February 17th when I think we
are going to Orlando for a few weeks.
Met a friend today in Miami and checked out Lincoln Street Mall a really nice
area with many different dining venues and shopping too.
I'm going to include a couple pictures we've taken around the greater Miami area.
We hope to get some beach time next week :)

January 19, 2014 Tampa to Fort Lauderdale, FL.
After spending about week in Tampa and attending the RV show we are
now headed further south to seek warmer weather.
The RV show was good, met our friends from Dallas and Las Cruces, NM.
Always good seeing everyone getting caught up and visiting.
I even got to see a former Manager from Verizon, Tom, ya still a
good guy. :)
We are eager to get to Fort Lauderdale to see our friends that moved
there from Dallas. They have been in Florida long enough to say
whether or not they would recommend FTL. It was one of our
favorite places when traveling there 2 years ago. Always enjoy
riding bikes down the boardwalk gawking at the "tourist" HA HA.
Of course Ms. Redmond convinced us to see north central Oregon
and we had a blast this last summer in Redmond, OR.
More later.
I am posting the following pictures for our friends in Dallas who we would
love they join us on the road. (Norman/Josh)

January 5, 2014 Jasper, FL - Florida Gateway RV Resort
We arrived at Florida Gateway RV Resort on a cool day and was hoping
for better weather. I think the Florida Panhandle has weather similar to
the Dallas area.
We will have a couple days here near Jasper and I75.
We will head to Tampa after our stay here on our RV lot since the price
is right.
