September 9, 2013 Crater Lake, OR

We arrived here today and thought we would run to town for a burger in Fort Klamath only
to learn there wasn't really any town. Even the little local market had closed. We drove
on to Crater Lake where we found our burger.

So we snapped some pictures of the lake, quiet impressive blue water.

Unique circumstance that created this lake which is over 1900 feet deep
and five miles across.

Very pretty day and the view of the lake was pretty sweet.

September 9, 2013 Redmond, Oregon

We spent three weeks and had a blast at Gary and Serena's in Redmond.

Between hiking, biking, white water rafting, water boarding, kayaking and just
good company we had a nice time relaxing laughing and just having
a good time.

It was nice to have met Gary and Serena earlier this year when we
had our time in Parker, AZ.

We have to say that Gary and Serena are truly good friends.

We are hopeful that we will see them again this year when they begin
their trip south when Redmond isn't as picture perfect with the weather
as it has been over the last three weeks.

Serena, Ms. Chamber of Commerce did a great job enticing use to make our
journey. The area has many things to do near by and the summer weather
is very mild. And of course Bend, OR. is only about 20 miles south of here with
as much to offer.

September 3, 2013 Redmond Oregon

Our stay in Redmond has been a blast. We've biked, hiked, geocached and got in some
white water rafting and water boarding.

Our white water rafting was down the Snake River and was a total blast allowing us to see
things along the river front.

Our water board was on Elk Lake, a very nice resort area west of Bend Oregon.

Between our play time we have helped Gary with a couple projects such as laying
pavers, installing some rain gutters, a reminder of home ownership. Some things that
we have been void of for 2 years now.

We also accomplished the August 31 day geocache challenge, finding at least one cache a day
with many days doing a couple more than the required pushing us over 400 finds.

August 24, 2013 Redmond Oregon

Well I haven't added anything here since leaving Wyoming. We arrived at friends in Oregon and it seems we have been running nearly every day. Whether biking, hiking or 

geocaching we have been quite busy.

These guys are about to run our legs off.

We hiked a little over 3 miles around Suttle Lake, a natural lake at the crest of the Cascades.  

We've hiked Eagles Crest Resort along the Deschutes River. The Deschutes river is a major tributary from the Columbia River providing much irrigation for east of the Cascades.

WOW these guys are hard to keep up with at times.

Today we went White Water Rafting on the McKenzie River which is west of 

Redmond in the Willamette National Forest. The Mckenzie River is a 90 mile

tributary of the Willamette River in located in western Oregon. We all had

a blast, it was so fun. The water temperature was 42 degrees, so it was a 

little chilly when we were splashed, but still such a great time.

We also got to see Sahalie Falls on the Mckenzie River which has a total fall of 73 feet. It is the largest of 3 falls found on the Mckenzie River
