June 30th Sheboygan, WI.

From Plymouth WI. we drove about 11 miles to Sheboygan, WI to the banks of
Lake Michigan, the only great lake located entirely within the United States.
Lake Michigan is bound from west to east by Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and
Michigan. Lake Michigan is over 300 miles long and over 115 miles wide
with a surface area that exceeds 22,000 sq ft with depths as deep as 900
feet and a shoreline over 1600 miles.

It is an awesome site if you have never seen the lake, looks like an ocean
that is for sure.

We have enjoyed the area, it is very clean and the temperature is totally
awesome, now since it is been around the mid 70/s. However we are
told the winters can be some 20 below ZERO, OMGcan you imagine.

June 28th Plymouth, WI

Hi,

We traveled today to Plymouth, WI. where we are staying at Plymouth Rock RV.

This place is huge, maybe 600 sites, we are in 633 and it looks like it is going to be a full park since the people are streaming in like they are going to the fair or a foot ball game.

Three pools and each have a nice crowd, maybe they are here for this weekend or maybe the week.

Weather is awesome, some clouds mixed with sun but a nice moderate 75, yes, nothing like that Dallas
heat. Although I saw it could be 117 degrees in Las Vegas.

We may make our way to the town of Plymouth later today after a little relaxation.

We drove thru a couple sweet little communities that began in the late 1890 time frame, some are very quaint and inviting.

June 27th Mauston, WI

Yes Wisconsin can hardly believe we finally got out of Forrest City. WOW Tiffin is the BONG compared to Winnebago!! Never to return to Forrest City for them to do anything.

Bunch of nice people but they either PAD the hours to perform work or they are FREAKING too slow!

Well I am only writing to tell everyone we have made it to Cheese head country, YEA.

We traveled from Forrest City IA thru Minnesota where we saw more of the same farm land like what we saw in Iowa. Rolling hill after rolling hills of farms and green fields. After crossing into Minnesota suddenly we got into areas with more water and lakes then it got kind of hilly with some rock jutting out at the side of the highway.

We move on to Plymouth, WI where we will stay through the 4th of July weekend before moving to Sturgeon Bay, WI on Lake Michigan.

So in the next couple weeks I will making updates with pictures.

June 19th Mason City

We're still in Forrest City getting work done on the motor home, waiting on warranty to provide approval for some work. Looks like it will now be back next week before we'll be done.

We drove over to Mason City, IA where Frank Lloyd Wright and his students and followers of the Prairie Style architecture designed several houses and a hotel/bank in IA. Mason City was named amoung the World's 14 Best Cities for architecture lovers.

In addition there are several other Prairie style homes built across from the FLW house. They are all very nice if you enjoy the marvels of the early 1900's. We fell in love with a house on 2nd Street which seemed like a bargain, but 4300SQ FT and in IA, really?

Here are some pictures that we took.

George Romey house, Prairie School masterpiece. All Brick, classic design. Elaborate crown molding, hardwood and quarry tile floors, granite countertops, all appliances included! Gorgeous main floor living and dining rooms, a large entryway and sitting area are flanked by two sun porches; one with fireplace, the other a cozy breakfast nook. Grand, open staircase leads to three spacious bedrooms and a lovely master suite with private bath and generous closets.

The Stockman house below was designed by Wright and was the third home built off his plans designed for middle class families. He termed the home as a "fire proof home for $5000.00" as advertised in Ladies' Home Journal in April 1907.

I liked this house, the Charles H. MacNider Museum was quite unusual for the roof pattern it had. The home was built in 1920 for Burr Keeler, the President of the Mason City Brick Co. The structure features an unusual wavy wood shingle pattern that was something that was quite different and we had never saw a roof structure like this before. It was very unique.
