July 12, Rapid City, South Dakota

Rapid City was named after a spring fed creek that passes through it, Rapid City was founded in 1876 by a group of prospectors that had come to the Black Hills in search of gold. Rapid City is the 2nd largest city in SD.
Historic downtown includes buildings from the early 1900's as well as an interactive fountain, book stores, restaurants, galleries and the City of the Presidents life size bronze statues.

We've driven through the Black Hills, Sturgis, Lead and various other little tourist sites along our journey.
