March 27 Kennedy Space Center

Well of course Kennedy Space center is a big attraction here in the Cape Canaveral area. We went one to the Kennedy Space center and thought it would be a couple hours of sight seeing, but soon learned that actually there is a lot to see and after doing the bus tours that take you to a launch pad there is hardly the time to take in other areas that be a big miss.

If you have never been to the space center it is worth your while for sure!

We purchased a day pass that we turned into an annual pass and then still signed up for a guided tour that took us over areas that we hadn't seen the 1st day with stops at the Vehicle Assembly Building where the shuttle is put together before launch and then taken to the launch pad. We also went out to the launch pad that the last shuttle was launched from.

Pretty nice experience.

March 26 Hollywood to Cape Canaveral, Fl

Well we've left the Miami Ft Lauderdale area :( and made our way north, although still along the Atlantic,  the beach are not quite the same.

Gee we didn't know that Port Canaveral was the 2nd busiest port in the world for cruise ships. So I went out to look at cruises and learned this is what they consider to be Orlando some 40 or so miles away. I suppose it makes sense since the are many Disney cruises

This port isn't like Key West were people can disembark and walk around a port city as there is nothing really around the port itself. It seems many places offer parking associated with a stay at the hotel making the offer.

When we arrived here we saw 4 or 5 ships at the port.

We will get out today and take some pictures of the area and post them.

March 19 Key West to Hollywood

We left behind the island life today :( We really enjoyed Key West immensely as it was very bike friendly and it allowed us to ride our bikes where ever we choose. More often than not we jumped on our bikes and went to town. And there was a certian attitude everyone seemed to so, laid back and no worries. It was AWESOME.

Leos campground was awesome too. It was small and quaint and nice to be so close to Key West, since Leo's is actually on Stock Island, maybe mile marker 2 on US1.

We have come to T.Y park or as the Seminole call it Topeekeegee Yugnee, a place of meeting under the trees. The park has over 136 acres or recreation and water park. A 2 mile loop for biking, jogging and skating. 60 RV sites that have full hook up with wifi(yea).

We will enjoy our time in Hollywood riding up and down the beach to keep our biking up now that I have an idea what we were doing in Key West.

Today we rode about 8 miles a slight bit less then some our jaunts before now.

Broward County has some pretty nice parks and are pretty reasonable to use. Our RV site was a little more than $20 less than Key West although Leo's was about $40 less than another park on Stock Island.

We are hoping to see as the season change in April we'll be seeing rates in the area drop as they will not be in their prime season if you can imagine the East coast of Florida not being a tourist destination HA HA.

March 17 Sunset at Key West

On our final nights in Key West we went to Mallory Square to enjoy the sunset and people watch.... not as big of a crowd as our first trip. Enjoyed a young man that did a few stunts but it is lost in just the pictures. He had a very good way of communicating with the crowd and telling stories. Definitely a situation where you would had've to been there.
